The Manuel Rodríguez ECOLOGÍA series draws on the traditions of European guitar-making practised by our great-grandfathers.

In those days, only the tonewood that grew locally and was readily available was used. It was not until much later that international trade – including in tropical woods – supplanted the local woods that had been tried and tested for decades.

At its core, the series is built on these old traditions and is therefore ecologically state-of-the-art. Not a single tropical wood is used. Instead, European woods such as spruce, walnut, maple and acacia are used. Furthermore, only water-based eco-friendly matt varnish is used. This holistic, ecologically sustainable design clearly sets the ECOLOGÍA series apart from other guitars.

In terms of sound, the instruments are moderately balanced and designed for a well-rounded tone. This is ensured, among other things, by the traditional neck construction with a dovetail joint, which guarantees not only high stability but also excellent vibration transmission.

A special feature of all 4/4 guitars by Manuel Rodríguez is the GEWA armrest, which offers two key advantages: Its rounded shape ensures a particularly comfortable playing feel and allows the top to vibrate freely across its entire surface, as it prevents damping caused by the right arm resting on it.

More sound, more comfort.

Hannabach 815HTC strings, manufactured in Germany, are fitted at the factory and perfectly complement the sound concept of this series.

The instruments in the Manuel Rodríguez ECOLOGÍA series are available in all five standard sizes, right down to the small 1/4-size guitar.

For more than 115 years, GUITARRAS MANUEL RODRÍGUEZ has been making instruments in the tradition of the Madrid School of Spanish guitar making.

The family business was founded in Madrid in 1905, making it the second oldest guitar manufacturer south of the Pyrenees. Today's Luthier Manuel Rodríguez III grew up in California and Spain and is already the third generation to practise his craft. The cosmopolitan way of life that so characterises Manuel is reflected in each and every instrument. Their unique grace and unmistakable sound result from the skilful combination of the tradition and modernity of the craft, the history and future of music, and the craftsmanship and experience of the builders.

"We live the development of our guitars with passion, through which we have increasingly succeeded from generation to generation in perfecting a centuries-old manufacturing technique more and more." - Manuel Rodriguez III.

In cooperation with GEWA music, Manuel Rodriguez has now redesigned his guitar series from the ground up, setting clear quality standards. Not least because of this, ECOLOGÍA, TRADICÍON, ACADEMIA, SUPERIOR and MAGISTRAL are manufactured in Europe under his personal supervision. The SIGNATURE LEGACY uniques even come directly from Spain, where the master still runs his own workshop.
