Chrome Flatwound

The strings of the Optima Chrome Flatwound series impress with fast and stable intonation as well as great durability. Their soft sound and very good playability are perfect for high-quality instruments.

Due to the flatwound winding, there is very little noise caused by movements of the fingers. The strings produce a low-mid tone with less treble than comparable roundwound strings (e.g. Optima Chrome) and are excellent for discreet playing.

Optima uses a special alloy for the flat wound wire, which is ideally suited for optimal tone pickup.

The Chrome Flatwound series includes strings for electric bass that are also suitable for acoustic basses.

RB

The Optima RB series is a reissue of those original flatwound strings that OPTIMA (at that time under the old brand name MAXIMA) had produced for the legendary RICKENBACKER basses.

Rickenbacker changed to another manufacturer, the strings disappeared from the market for many years. Now, finally, by popular demand, they are available again.

Optima Gold is a string series in premium quality that is second to none.

All strings are coated with genuine 24 carat gold and are therefore completely insensitive to tarnishing or corrosion. Their durability is up to three times higher than normal strings and they are suitable for nickel allergy sufferers.

24K GOLD STRINGS are characterised by a crisp, brilliant, strong sound. The typical SOUND OF GOLD, the brilliance of which Frank Zappa and John Entwistle swore by. And of course Brian May also plays OPTIMA 24K GOLD STRINGS on his guitars.

Optima has left old patterns and materials behind and quite simply reinvented the classical guitar string. The bass strings are now made of a completely new core material. This, in combination with their winding of Special Silver or 24K Gold, gives them an extremely fast response and a powerful tone that is very sustainable and rich in overtones. At the same time, the sound spectrum remains perfectly balanced.
