The Celebrity series is the entry into the world of Ovation. Here everyone can find their Roundback® original at an attractive price.
The acoustic sound is convincing because the instruments of this line have mainly solid spruce or cedar tops, which are stabilised at the bottom with a Scalloped Quartersawn X-Bracing - a crosswise wood construction - for optimal sound development.
All guitars of the Ovation Celebrity series have a Nato neck and are available in Mid-Depth or Super Shallow Lyrachord® body version, depending on the model.
The electro-acoustic signal processing starts with an Ovation Slimline pickup at the bridge of the guitar, which - as the name already says - stands out due to its slim design. The pressure point on the piezo crystals is increased by the serrated bridge inlay, which favours a particularly even sound. Before the signal leaves the guitar, it is refined by an Ovation OP4BT preamp with 3-band EQ and built-in tuner.
The instruments of the Celebrity series are divided into the Traditional and Elite lines, which are distinguished by the types of soundholes used (centre soundhole or multi soundholes). The addition Plus identifies guitars whose tops have been upgraded with special woods.
To round off the tonal quality, all Celebrity guitars are factory-fitted with high-quality strings from Adamas or Hannabach, depending on the model.

The instruments of the Ovation Celebrity Elite series are something special, both for the eyes and the ears.
They feature Ovation's signature Multi Soundholes. This innovative construction uses several small openings at the edge of the guitar top instead of a single, central soundhole.
This has two positive effects: firstly, the available vibration surface in the centre of the soundboard is increased, and secondly, the sound comes out much closer to the ear of the person playing.
In addition, the Multi Soundholes are visually enriching and are a guaranteed eye-catcher on stage.

Over the last five decades, Ovation has made a name for itself through groundbreaking developments and modern designs, especially in circles of advanced and professional musicians. A high standard.
The Ovation® Balladeer series is ideal for all those who are looking for a workhorse for stage and studio in the mid-price segment, but who do not want to go without an appealing appearance or sophisticated technical features.
The instruments owe their appealing acoustic sound to their solid spruce top (A-grade), which has a scalloped X-bracing – a wooden construction arranged crosswise – on the underside. All models in this series have a centersoundhole, i.e. a sound hole in the middle of the guitar top, which is framed by a discreet Pearl Oak Leaf rosette.
Equally discreet dot/diamond inlays are found in the five-piece mahogany/maple neck, which is particularly stable and torsionally strong due to its construction.
The Deep Contour Lyrachord® body in the weight-reduced GS version delivers increased volume with easy handling.
But what would an Ovation be without the typical electro-acoustic sound via amp or PA?
An OCP1K pickup with extra-large piezo crystals picks up the vibrations, not only from the strings, but also from the top.
For further processing of the signal, an OP-Pro preamp is used in this model series.
The guitars are delivered without a case. We recommend an Ovation 8158K-0 ABS case to anyone who wants to take this instrument on tour.

One of the many stories about this guitar series tells of how Linda McCartney wanted to give her husband Paul an Ovation guitar for Christmas because he thought it was so great. In the end, an Ovation Legend ended up under the Christmas tree... in the left-handed version, of course.
When Ovation developed the Legend series, they were looking for a special sound concept that would enable the guitars to not lose energy in any frequency range. Full basses, clear trebles and strong mids.
A harmonious body – a tuned body
As with all Ovation guitars, the hand-selected wood top is applied to a Lyrychord® bowl. Since Lyrachord® resonates at a clearly defined frequency, the top could be designed to resonate at a complementary frequency. The result is a "tuned" guitar body that produces a full, smooth sound.
An A for an X.
Most high-quality Ovation guitars use cross-braced reinforcing braces called "X-bracing" to stabilise the top. To better support the material's ability to vibrate, the reinforcements on the Ovation Legend Series are placed in an A-shapealong the grain of the wood. This "A-Bracing"
significantly improves resonance in the mid and bass ranges and contributes to a balanced sound across all frequencies.

They dispense with the classic sound hole in the middle of the top in favour of several smaller openings at the edge of the guitar, called Multi Soundholes. This special construction has two positive effects: firstly, it increases the available vibration surface in the centre of the soundboard, and secondly, the sound comes out much closer to the ear of the person playing.
Visually, the Multi Soundholes are unique in themselves. Some models are additionally decorated with elegant epaulettes. A guaranteed eye-catcher on all stages.
Another contributor towards the appealing acoustic sound of these instruments are their high-quality spruce tops made of grade A woods.
But what would an Ovation be without the typical electro-acoustic sound via amp or PA?
This is provided by an OCP1K pickup, whose extra-large piezo crystals pick up the vibrations not only from the strings but also from the top.

The instruments of the Elite TX series are particularly unique, and it is no coincidence that they are very popular in the rock and metal scene. Those who are used to playing electric guitars especially benefit enormously from features like the maple neck, which not only stands for a fast response and good sustain, but is also equipped with a flat neck profile for optimal playability.
As an added bonus, all TX models are finished in a beautiful, genre-matching Black Textured finish.
The Elite TX Series range includes guitars of various body depths and scales. Among them are both 6- and 12-string models, as well as a 4-string bass.
The guitars are delivered without a case. For those who want to take their instrument on tour, we recommend an Ovation 8158K-0 ABS case for Deep Contour and Mid Depth models, an Ovation 8117K-0 ABS case for Super Shallow models and for the bass, the Ovation MC-4 case.

Between 1983 and 1994, the Ovation Ultra models were already produced as Cutaway and non-Cutaway versions in a wide variety of colors, finishes and bowl depths. The new edition of this model series is specially designed for singer-songwriters. Due to the Mid-Depth/Non-Cutaway Bowl, the guitar fits appropriately close to the body and therefore offers a comfortable playing feeling.
The newly designed K-21CT preamp delivers a clearly structured basic sound with defined mids and good string separation. The sound conception allows the guitar to excellently assert itself in the interplay with other instruments and to be easily distinguished in the overall sound image of a band.
The OCP-2000 pickup is another Ovation innovation that comes into use for the Ultra guitars; an improved piezo material formulation, more precise placement of the piezo elements, and a new material blend with increased glass content for the string support reduce wear, grant better vibration transmission to the piezo elements, and result in increased output.
As well as this, the pure acoustic sound of the Ultras is impressive. The A-grade spruce soundboards come from Germany and are thermo-treated, which simulates about 15 years in the change of seasons and creates a mature, balanced sound of a well-rehearsed soundboard. The UV-varnish that is used is extremely environmentally friendly as it contains almost no reducing agents and can be applied ultra-thin. A correspondingly thin layer of varnish slows down the vibration behavior of the soundboard significantly less, which in turn audibly benefits the sound.
All Ultra models come with a strong, design 20 mm thick padded soft case.
