Logo GEWA German Engineered

High-quality instruments are and always have been our mission.

But they must also be affordable and accessible to all.

GEWA German Engineered products are 100% conceptualised and designed by our experts in Germany. Know-How, experience and a constantly open ear for the needs of music creators characterise the work of the development teams.

In cooperation with partners and GEWA-owned production facilities all over the world, ideas are then turned into instruments. These locations enable us to use production techniques that are not available in this form elsewhere.

Our specialists regularly visit all the workshops to train the staff and to make sure that the production runs according to our ideas in all respects.

This enables us to guarantee a reasonable price at a consistently high production quality. But that is not quite enough for us.

That's why every single instrument is put through its paces again in our service workshops before delivery. Only in this way can we be sure that GEWA German Engineered is always the right choice.

Premium Series

The GEWA Premium Series offers mandolins and banjos for those who already have advanced experience on these instruments.

The folk mandolin is primarily associated with American bluegrass and country music, but now also has a firm place in pop and rock.

The premium range includes A and F style versions in a subtle vintage sunburst high gloss finish. All instruments are equipped with a solid spruce top, while the back and sides are made of solid flamed maple.

Apart from the folk mandolin, hardly any sound is as associated with traditional American music as that of the banjo. The GEWA Premium series offers instruments for advanced players in 4-, 5- and 6-string versions.

All models feature a 35 cm mahogany shell with two coordinator bars, a Purpleheart fingerboard, an original REMO® Wheatherking head and chrome-plated hardware.

The 4- and 5-string models feature genuine banjo tuners with pearloid buttons, while the 6-string version has die-cast guitar tuners for better handling.

To protect the high-quality Premium Series instruments from weather and damage on the way to rehearsal or a concert, all mandolins and banjos are delivered in a sturdy case.

Pro Natura

String instruments with a full, balanced sound, excellent playability, a special look and an ecologically sustainable production concept - that's GEWA PRO NATURA.

The perfect choice for anyone looking for the best for beginners and beyond.

Neither tropical plants nor environmentally harmful chemicals are used in the production of PRO NATURA instruments. Instead, only woods from the northern hemisphere with environmentally friendly varnishes are used.

For better orientation, the different versions have been divided into three lines, which differ primarily in the choice of woods and varnishes, which of course has a decisive influence on the appearance and sound of the instruments.

PRO NATURA BRONZE: Classic look in a traditionally darker mahogany colour.

The guitars in sizes 4/4, 7/8 and 3/4 have a top made of solid cedar, while the back and sides are made of oak. An environmentally friendly polyurethane high-gloss lacquer is used to seal the finish.

PRO NATURA SILVER: A comprehensive range of different guitars and folk instruments with a particularly bright finish.

Regardless of the model, only solid spruce tops are used here; back and sides are made of maple or walnut, depending on the model. The instruments owe their remarkably bright shimmering look not least to the environmentally friendly eco-matt varnish.

The wide selection of guitars includes all standard sizes from 4/4 to 1/4, a left-handed model and an electro-acoustic version with cutaway.

In addition, classical folk instruments such as mandolins, mandolas and bouzoukis can be found here.

PRO NATURA GOLD: The excellent look of SILVER with the full sound of solid woods.

The decisive plus of this line: the spruce top as well as the back and sides, which are made of walnut, maple or cherry depending on the model, are made of solid wood. Of course, these 4/4 guitars are also finished with a discreet, environmentally friendly matt lacquer.

The instruments of all three lines are manufactured in Europe, the Hannabach 815HT quality strings, with which all guitars are factory-fitted with, even directly in Germany.

Student

For newcomers in particular, a well-made instrument is crucial so that they are not hindered by the shortcomings of their guitar during the first few metres of their new passion and can concentrate fully on developing their skills.

The GEWA STUDENT series represents the perfect entry into the world of acoustic guitars at an excellent price/performance ratio.

Experienced guitar builders have designed the GEWA STUDENT series entirely in Germany. Factors such as neck profile and string action, which are crucial for playability, are perfectly matched.

The guitars are light and well balanced. An important role is played by the neck made of okoumé wood, whose internal carbon reinforcement additionally stabilises this sensitive area.

The water-based eco-matt varnish provides a pleasant feel and contributes significantly to the open sound character of the instruments, as the open-pored treatment allows the wood to vibrate more freely.

Flawless and clean workmanship is ensured in GEWA's own production facility.

German-made Hannabach 815HT strings are fitted at the factory and perfectly round off the sound concept of this series.

The instruments of the GEWA Student series are available in five commercial sizes from 4/4 to 1/4 and even in various electro-acoustic versions.

products

Pro Arte

Regardless of the instrument type, all models have solid tops, which has a significant effect on the quality of the sound.

PRO ARTE's wide selection of guitars includes all five commercially available sizes from 4/4 to 1/4, with various looks and finishes and even an electro-acoustic version with cutaway.

All models are factory-supplied with German-made Hannabach 815HT quality strings.
